Infection, Immunity Antimicrobial Resistance and Repair

The infection, Immunity Antimicrobial Resistance and Repair theme (IIAR) aims to improve the diagnosis, prevention, stratification and treatment of patients with various forms of autoimmune and infectious diseases (and the issues of microbial resistance), cancers and co-morbidities as well as providing a bridge to clinical innovations.

This theme focuses on the following inter-related areas:

  • Immunology: the activation, regulation and control of adaptive and innate immune responses.
  • Infection: fundamental interests in microbiology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology and mycology.
  • Antimicrobial Resistance: all aspects of the evolution and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance.
  • Repair: covers aspects of inflammatory resolution, would healing and repair.
