The aims of the Population Health Sciences Theme are to
- understand the biological, environmental and social causes of disease, including the determinants of health-related behaviours
- design, develop and evaluate interventions to improve population health
- implement research findings in to policy and practice.
Our research includes investigations into the genetics and basic biological mechanisms of disease, the development of models to predict disease, the development of analytical methods, and the design and implementation of health interventions.
