Academic requirements
Qualifications
Applicants must hold, or be about to obtain, one of the following qualifications in a relevant medical sciences field:
- a UK first honours degree
- a UK upper second-class honours degree
- or an equivalent qualification from outside the UK
Those with a lower second class degree may be considered only if:
- they also possess a master’s degree
- or equivalent high-quality evidence of professional practice
At the University of Bath, a lower second-class degree is only acceptable for PhD entry if accompanied by a master’s graded at merit level or above.
Check each project’s home institution requirements before applying. Academic qualifications are assessed alongside relevant non-academic experience.
